Summer Outfits of the days!

I've decided to start doing outfits of the day for a change and as a style blog you need to see if my style is something you admire! So here is my first installment of #ootd! I kept a record of my outfits the past week so here we go!

Outfit 1; Monday.
A pair of fishnet tights, which i think is a really cool statement instead of plain black and yet has the same effect, paired with platform boots form Ebay. Topshop over-sized grey dress, with  sheer cream blouse underneath. I put one of my hand made chokers under the collar to make it stand up higher and to great effect! And to finish off , a leopard print gillet from vintage shop 9 Crow Street!

   Outfit 2; Tuesday
It was a gorgeous day in Dublin on Tuesday, shocker I know! So I thought an off shoulder crop top from Pennys would do nicely. Off the shoulder seems to be in this Autumn as I predicted in March (no big deal). I paired this with a beautiful white skirt I purchased in Vincents charity shop on Georges Street in town, this is a great little shop for finds and I'd encourage you to check it out!

  Outfit 3; Wednesday
This is all charity shop purchased! The key with charity shopping is to have a look in regularly and maybe ask when they get new stock in every week. I live in Dun Loaghaire and they have a great selection of charity shops such a s Vincents, Charity begins at home and Bernardos etc. Simple tartan suit i found under a pile of hats, the trick is t not give up! And also go when you are in a good mood because it is frustrating at times!

  Outift 4; Thursday
Vintage again! Beautiful dress from Lucy's Lounge paired with a topshop sun hat that I Customeyes'd by flipping up the sides for a wide brim look!

Accessories Time!

Pennys Belt
U.O hairband
Chokers are in at the moment, I have been looking for the perfect one for a long time. They're expensive on the high street and even in the goth and emo boutiques I have come to love they're a bit pricey. So what I did is I bought a 2 euro black leather belt from Primark and cut it to fit around my neck. Such an amazing idea if I do say so myself. This was about a year ago now, so this post is a tad dated but I wanted to share it with you anyways! I also did this with a spiked hairband from Urban Outfitters and it creates such a stunning individual look for nothing! So if you have any old black belts/hairbands, dare you to give it a try!

Since then I have had a little obsession with making chokers and accessories! And my taste has evolved from mere leather straps to lace and pearl extravagance!
Even this piece has evolved to having at least seven layers of fabric at this stage!
Myself at a photoshoot for The RaGg Trade Blog wearing
my crop top and lace choker
Really simple to make I'm not a genius! Hems from old dresses sewn together, broaches that are actually earrings, really just use your imagination and don't be afraid to be different!

Another old idea I used to love (keeping in mind that this post is way overdue) is cutting off collars from old shirts and wearing them with other things! This was a signature staple of my friend Alana Conlon. I bedazzled them with studs and bits of tinsel, and even tried experimental stitches on them from different textures!

Then for my last post of today (running off to work) I have my gloves. Simple, old pair of leather gloves bought from my faithful charity shops, but I really wanted to do something different with them. Did you ever used to put clips on the tips of your fingers and pretend to have really long nails? That childhood memory inspired me! Studs, at the tips of the fingers!! Dare someone to mess with you now! Can't believe I'm saying this, but I cant wait for it to be cold enough to wear these!

Why not stud somewhere unexpected? Like the sole of your creeper? These babies are so old now but I took a picture of when I first studded them for my facebook page CustomEyes'd (Please check out and like!)

Crop top time! I'm always on the lookout for a jumpsuit, but for someone who has a small top and bigger bottom they're hard to find! So when my beautiful Aztec print jumpsuit from Urban Outfitters ripped at the seams on the legs, I had no other choice but to chop chop chop! It has a low front with a zipper, so what I do for a more chic look is wear it backwards as I do with most of my clothes as I am a fan of a high neck. If you are miserable (or too lazy in my case) at hemming I always tuck it in to a high waited skirt as worn by the lovely Hannah below!

I love charity shop shopping! I found this little beauty in St. Vincent's in Dun Loaghaire. It once was a floor length, velvet dress. The thing about charity shopping is it is hard to find smaller sizes and when you do you are extremely lucky! The trick is to keep looking in them as much as you can for when their new stock comes in so you have the pick of the new things before everyone else does. Anyway, Charity shops are a great place to buy cheap clothes that actually are better quality fabric then the expensive brands on the high street. Also, it makes you feel less guilty about customeyesing something that cost 5 euro as opposed to something that cost 50! With this dress i first cut it to a short dress just above the knees and added black lace to the hem. It was a bit big on me so I figured instead of taking it in i would just make it shorter because then it would look flowy without swallowing me up. I found it hard to wear, the shape was just very unflattering, so yet again I cut it into a crop top and did the same thing as I have previously suggested added lace to the crooked hem.
I was riffling through Topshop sale two years ago and i found a ankle length, high neck maroon dress and bought it for 7 euro! Needless to say I was very pleased with myself on my bargain hunting. However, with indecisions on how to wear it I had eventually cut it into a dress above my knees and was disappointed with the result. So what could i do? I could only make it shorter! So i cut it into a crop top, and if you are bad at hemming  simple and very effective trick is to add lace to the ends to hide its flaws and to add more texture and cuteness to the piece!

The simple, generic denim jacket that I had never really worn. I left it in a bucket of simple toilet bleach (WARNING I used this on my hair once never try it!) I tried to be a little edgier and i opted for a grunge chop off sleeve look. But to tie in with my girlishness I added so fringe 'thats so damn foxy' to the end from an old skirt from my nineties childhood. The result? A denim jacket like no other! Now that's reeeeal hipster!
